Mockingbird vs UPPAbaby Vista [8 Comparisons You Need to Know About!]

Having trouble deciding which stroller is the best fit for you? Here is our detailed Mockingbird vs UPPAbaby Vista comparison.

Until the Mockingbird Single to Double was released, the UPPAbaby Vista V2 was the only single-to-double stroller on the market. So, of course, the two have many things in common. Our Rookie Mom Squad has had the chance to try them both out and while the UPPAbaby Vista V2 has long topped our stroller list, we’ve got to say that the Mockingbird Single to Double Stroller has thoroughly impressed us recently.

Quick View

There is no doubt UPPAbaby Vista V2 is one of the best strollers out there. It is famous for being easy to maneuver, even in the double stroller configuration. You’ll hear many families rave about the quality, durability, and how smooth of a ride it is. What they don’t love…the price tag. You are not alone if you are wondering if this stroller is really worth it.

Keep in mind, UPPAbaby came out in February 2022 with some fixes and new features that keep the Vista V2 at the top of its game.

Shop UPPAbaby Vista

Mockingbird has many of the same luxury features as UPPAbaby Vista V2, but they sell direct to consumers for about half the price. It includes a suspension system with substantial wheels, a bad-ass canopy, a good brake, an adjustable handlebar, generous storage, and high weight limits. Plus, the single-to-double conversion process is as easy as it gets. Surely, it must be missing something that the UPPAbaby Vista V2 offers, right?

It is important to note Mockingbird did previously sell a single stroller but they now sell the Mockingbird Single to Double, which is what we are reviewing in the comparison below.

Mockingbird vs UPPAbaby Vista Comparisons

Let’s look at the features of both and how they compare.

Price

Mockingbird Single Stroller Price

  • Single-to-double stroller with sun shade: $450
  • Lifetime warranty on the stroller and 2-year warranty on accessories

UPPAbaby VISTA V2 Single Stroller Price

  • Single-to-double stroller with bassinet and rain and bug covers: $1,099.99
  • 3-Year Warranty when appropriately registered

Canopy

UPPAbaby Vista V2 has a height-adjustable, UPF 50+ canopy to help safely protect little ones from powerful sun rays. Most strollers provide a viewing window and a modestly sized canopy, but this one takes canopies to new heights with an extra zippered section to completely block out all the sun rays.

Mockingbird listened to all the little birdies and added a new extendable UPF 50+ all-weather canopy.  It includes a magnetic see-through peekaboo window, a mesh panel for optional airflow, and an attachable full coverage sunshade. They thought of everything with this fix and even added a black-and-white pattern on the canopy interior designed to promote early childhood visual development.

Seat & Harness

Mockingbird offers a spacious and cozy place for babies of all sizes to grow. The stroller has a 5-point harness to keep your baby safe.

With the purchase of no accessories, the Mockingbird seat is suitable for babies from 6 months through their toddler years. However, if you purchase the Mockingbird Stroller Carriage, Car Seat Adapter, or Infant Insert you can use this stroller from the newborn stage.

The Vista V2 is also very versatile and has a 5-point harness. It can be used from birth to 50 pounds, without the purchase of any additional accessories. The seat provides ample room without taking up more space than necessary, which is what makes this stroller so easy to maneuver through doorways.

Both stroller seats easily recline into multiple positions to keep your little ones as comfortable as possible and almost lay flat which is ideal for naps on the go. A deep footrest provides plenty of legroom and adjusts up and down on both the Mockingbird and Vista. However, I do love that the Mockingbird footrest unzips for easy cleaning.

Seat Options

One of the significant advantages and why so many parents justify spending so much on designer strollers like these is that they offer dozens of seat configuration options. If you plan on growing your family, this is a huge bonus. The UPPAbaby Vista V2 has the ability to add a Rumble Seat and the Mockingbird a second seat to accommodate 2 kiddos.

Both strollers allow you to use the toddler seat either forward-facing or parent-facing so the baby can see you or see the world. Mix in an infant car seat and the bassinet (purchased separately with Mockingbird) for a total of two babies per stroller. You can even use the stroller with two car seats or any other combination, with the right car seat adapters (sold separately).

Both also offer the option of adding a riding board to the back of the stroller which allows a third child to ride along.

Handlebar

Both strollers accommodate multiple heights with handlebars that go up and down easily, allowing for correct posture and full comfort for the stroller pusher.

UPPAbaby Vista has telescoping handlebars that extend. Plus, the handlebar comes in full leather with pinholes for comfort, breathability, and grip.

Mockingbird’s handlebars adjust up and down and are covered with faux leather.

Wheels & Suspension

UPPAbaby made many improvements to the newest version of the Vista V2, including softer tires. Plus, the Vista V2 has great wheel suspension. You can also lock the front wheels into place for a smoother ride with a quick push-down, then a green indicator to let you know when the wheels are locked.

Mockingbird’s wheels have front-end suspension and we find the glide just as smooth over rocks, bricks, dirt, and so much more. However, when you add a second child, the Mockingbird does become a bit more different to push.

Storage Basket

The storage basket for the Uppababy Vista V2 includes an extra-large basket for stowing diaper bags, shopping bags, blankets, and toys. It’s much deeper and roomier than other stroller baskets and even includes pockets on the back to quickly stow items like phones, bottles, or a snack. Also, the basket allows you to pop items in from the front or the back for the most usability possible.

Much like that of the Vista, the Mockingbird storage basket is vast and spacious. I can fit my diaper bag and a couple of grocery bags down there. In fact, it can hold up to 25 lbs of stuff, which is impressive. This is great for city dwellers whose stroller also doubles as a shopping cart and car.

One of the only downfalls of both of these strollers is they don’t come with a snack tray, cup holder, or parent organizer. These accessories are available to be purchased separately.

Fold-Down

Mockingbird Folding Instructions

Mockingbird is super easy to fold up one-handed making it really convenient when you have your hands full.

Vista V2 Folding Instructions

UPPAbaby Vista V2 folding frame allows the stroller to fold down by pushing two assemblies on the sides of the handle. This prevents the stroller from collapsing unintentionally, like a single button trigger release can sometimes do.

The best feature of both of these folding strollers is the ability to stand independently when folded making them easier to lift into the car.

Color Options

The Vista V2 comes with nine color options to suit most everyone’s taste.

Options:

  • Alice – Modern Pale Pink
  • Finn – Two-Toned Teal
  • Hazel – Two-Toned Olive Green
  • Sierra – Heathered Tan and Cream
  • Bryce – Silvery White
  • Emmett – Hunter Green
  • Gregory – Silvery Gray
  • Jake – Charcoal Deep Gray
  • Jordan – Heathered Gray

Each of the options comes with a leather handlebar in shades of saddle brown, chestnut, and black.

Mockingbird comes in five color options that are equally simple and elegant.

Options:

  • Black
  • Sea – Deep Blue
  • Sky – Light Blue
  • Bloom – Light Pink
  • Sage – Light Green

Each option comes with your choice of Pattern Windowpane or Watercolor Drops, and your choice of frame in either Silver with Black Leather frame or Silver with Penny Leather.

Who wins?

You can see that they share so many of the same high-end features, and we are all about getting the most value for the price. We love the UPPAbaby Vista V2, but if price is a factor (which, with baby gear it always is) Mockingbird is the winner! There just is not enough that sets the two apart to justify the price difference.
