**Pregnancy Week 5**

* **Your baby’s development:** Your baby is now about the size of a sesame seed. The neural tube is closing, and the heart is starting to beat.
* **Your body:** You may start to feel tired and nauseous. Your breasts may become tender, and you may notice a darkening of your areolas.
* **What to expect:** You may have a missed period. You may also experience some light spotting or cramping.

**Pregnancy Week 6**

* **Your baby’s development:** Your baby is now about the size of a lentil. The arms and legs are starting to bud, and the eyes are beginning to form.
* **Your body:** Your nausea and fatigue may continue. You may also experience some headaches or mood swings.
* **What to expect:** You may have a positive pregnancy test. You may also need to start taking prenatal vitamins.

**Pregnancy Week 7**

* **Your baby’s development:** Your baby is now about the size of a blueberry. The facial features are starting to form, and the fingers and toes are beginning to develop.
* **Your body:** Your nausea and fatigue may start to subside. You may also notice an increase in your appetite.
* **What to expect:** You may have your first prenatal appointment. Your doctor will perform a physical exam and order some blood tests.

**Pregnancy Week 8**

* **Your baby’s development:** Your baby is now about the size of a raspberry. The heart is fully formed, and the kidneys are beginning to function.
* **Your body:** Your belly may start to show. You may also notice a change in your skin, such as acne or darkening of the skin around your nipples.
* **What to expect:** You may have an ultrasound to confirm your pregnancy and check on your baby’s development.

**Pregnancy Week 9**

* **Your baby’s development:** Your baby is now about the size of a grape. The genitals are starting to develop, and the baby is starting to move around.
* **Your body:** Your belly may continue to grow. You may also experience some lower back pain or leg cramps.
* **What to expect:** You may have a second prenatal appointment. Your doctor will check your weight and blood pressure and listen to your baby’s heartbeat.

**Pregnancy Week 10**

* **Your baby’s development:** Your baby is now about the size of a strawberry. The baby’s fingers and toes are fully formed, and the baby is starting to make small movements.
* **Your body:** Your belly may be more noticeable. You may also experience some swelling in your feet and ankles.
* **What to expect:** You may have a third prenatal appointment. Your doctor will do a more thorough exam and may order some additional tests, such as a glucose tolerance test or a Group B strep test..
