Royals’ Mona Pregnant With Her First Child, Couple Expecting Arrival Early in 2023

Monegasque royal family members, Charlotte Casiraghi and Dimitri Rassam, are expecting their first child together, the palace announced on Tuesday.

The statement said that the royal daughter of Princess Caroline of Hanover, and the French movie producer son of the late actress Carole Bouquet, “are delighted to announce the upcoming birth of their child, expected for the beginning of 2023.”

Charlotte is already a mother to a 9-year-old son, Raphaël, with her ex-partner, the humorist Gad Elmaleh. Rassam is also a father of a daughter, Darya, who will be turning 12 in January.

The couple started dating in 2017 and married in a civil ceremony in June 2019, followed by a religious ceremony in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence in the south of France.

Charlotte and Rassam have kept their relationship very private, rarely appearing together in public or giving interviews about their romance. However, the royal family of Monaco often shares photos of the couple on their official social media accounts.

Charlotte is the second child of Princess Caroline of Hanover, who has three children, and her first husband, Philippe Junot. She also has a half-brother, Andrea Casiraghi, from her mother’s second marriage to Stefano Casiraghi.

Charlotte is eleventh in the line of succession to the Monegasque throne, after her mother, her older brother Andrea, her nephew Sacha, her niece India, and her younger brother Pierre, as well as his wife Beatrice Borromeo and their two sons, Stefano and Francesco.

The expected arrival of Charlotte and Rassam’s baby will be the fourth grandchild for Princess Caroline of Hanover, following Andrea’s children and Pierre’s children. It will also be the third great-grandchild for reigning Prince Albert II of Monaco, after Jacques and Gabriella, the children of Prince Albert and Princess Charlene..
